More time to claim NIGHT

Since opening, Glacier Drop has seen outstanding participation, with over 2.7 billion NIGHT tokens claimed across 125,000 wallets.
By opening eligibility across eight ecosystems and allocating 100% of NIGHT to the community during the Glacier Drop phase, the goal was to give as many people as possible the chance to take part in building Midnight’s privacy-enhancing infrastructure, and to encourage collaboration across chains where privacy matters most.
In response to direct feedback from the community, the Glacier Drop claim window is being extended for an additional 16 days. This ensures more time for eligible participants to claim and take advantage of the enhanced wallet and hardware support.
Glacier Drop timeline update
The claim period will now close on October 20th, 2025, 16 days, beyond the original schedule.
This extension for our global community ensures:
- Delayed participants have adequate opportunity to navigate enhanced wallet compatibility options
- New participants can fully engage with claims using newly supported wallets
- All eligible participants have adequate opportunity to secure their NIGHT allocation
- Cross-chain participation can continue its remarkable momentum

- New Close Date: October 20, 2025
- Additional claiming window: 16 days beyond the original schedule
Enhanced hardware wallet compatibility
In response to community feedback, more support has been introduced including:
- Additional self-custody wallet integrations across supported ecosystems, including OKX Wallet
- Enhanced hardware wallet compatibility, including Ledger
- Improved claim flows designed to enhance the claim experience
Scavenger Mine update
To accommodate this extension while preserving the overall distribution schedule, the Scavenger Mine timeline will also be adjusted. Scavenger Mine is planned to start once the reconciliation for the now extended Glacier Drop Claim phase is complete, with exact dates to be announced in the near future.
Regardless of timeline changes, the NIGHT token allocation dedicated to Scavenger Mine participants remains unaffected.
Scavenger Mine is open to everyone — including those who were not eligible for the first phase of the Glacier Drop — and is designed to be accessible with standard computing hardware, with opportunities to claim refreshed daily.
Continuing commitment to fairness
This extension ensures that technical barriers and timing don't prevent eligible participants from joining the distribution. Providing additional time while maintaining the core components of the distribution model will support broad-based participation from long-term network participants.

You now have 16 additional days to verify eligibility, resolve any wallet compatibility issues, and secure your NIGHT allocation.
Those who plan to participate in Scavenger Mine
Scavenger Mine is planned to start once the reconciliation for the now extended Glacier Drop Claim phase is complete and will distribute NIGHT as outlined in the tokenomics paper.
