We’re excited to share that Provably and Midnight are joining forces through a collaboration aimed at advancing the frontiers of zero-knowledge cryptography.

Both projects share a common goal: making cryptography not just powerful, but practical and programmable. Provably has been building the foundations of verifiable analytics with “Expressive and Modular Verifiable Databases (without SNARKs)”, a set of  tools and infrastructure that let organizations transform raw data into zero-knowledge proofs of correctness. Instead of trusting a black-box report guaranteed by a third party or human attestation (e.g. accountant), a user gets verifiable evidence that the numbers add up. All of that comes without compromising private and sensitive data..

Midnight, meanwhile, has been pioneering new blockchain protocols that bring privacy and programmability together. Their work shows how zero-knowledge smart contracts can underpin entirely new categories of applications that are simultaneously private, compliant, and scalable.

This collaboration is about combining those strengths: Verifiable Analytics from Provably, and cutting-edge zero-knowledge infrastructure from Midnight.

Why now?

Across industries, independently of Web2 or Web3, the need for trustworthy analytics is rising fast. Regulators want compliance reports without exposing user data. Enterprises want collaboration without losing control of proprietary information. Communities want transparency without sacrificing privacy. Blockchain smart contracts want to have verifiable big data. 

Zero-knowledge cryptography can bridge these gaps by providing attestations that are verifiable, auditable and privacy-preserving. The collaboration between Provably and Midnight wants to do that with faster, cheaper, more expressive and easier to use zero knowledge tools.

This collaboration will center on three areas of development. 

First, we’ll be working on proof system integration, bringing together Midnight’s protocol research with Provably’s verifiable analytics engine. The vision is to create analytics pipelines that are not only efficient but also provably correct and privacy-preserving by design. 

Second, we’ll invest in performance and cost improvements, making sure that proof generation is practical at real-world scale. Whether it’s generating compliance reports, publishing financial metrics, or verifying on-chain activity, the goal is to make zero-knowledge analytics fast and affordable enough to be usable across industries. 

Finally, we’ll contribute to open standards and ecosystem growth by publishing benchmarks, libraries, and best practices — ensuring that our progress doesn’t just benefit this partnership but supports the wider community in adopting verifiable analytics and privacy-first systems.

The potential outcomes go well beyond academic research. With these building blocks in place, we can unlock entirely new applications. In Confidential DeFi, for example, solvency proofs, compliance checks, or risk assessments could be performed without exposing underlying positions or strategies. For enterprises, privacy-preserving business analytics could allow regulators, partners, or even competitors to verify the integrity of data without gaining access to sensitive information. And for developers, plug-and-play APIs could make it trivial to integrate verifiable analytics into their applications, removing the steep cryptography learning curve. By embedding verifiability directly into analytics workflows, we can transition from systems that require blind trust in reports to systems where every claim can be backed by a mathematical proof. This marks a step toward a future where data is not only useful, but also inherently trustworthy. Last but not least, Provably will introduce the Midnight integration to their partners in enterprise, crypto payment rails and beyond.
