What is the Cardano blockchain training program?
The Cardano blockchain training program conducted at the ABC site is a comprehensive two-month initiative aimed at equipping students with essential Haskell programming skills and the knowledge to create Plutus and Marlowe financial smart contracts.
The ABC is a leading organization dedicated to promote blockchain education, research, and adoption across the African continent. With a mission to empower individuals and businesses with relevant and applicable knowledge, the center serves as a hub for innovation and collaboration within the blockchain community.
The program started with a hybrid course covering the concepts of Haskell, Plutus, and Marlowe, led by Dr. Lars Brünjes, director of Education at IOG, and two teaching assistants from the Education team, Karina Lopez and Robertino Martinez. The course comprised two weeks of in-person training followed by six weeks of virtual training with topics such as:
- Introduction to cryptocurrencies
- Data types & functions
- Concurrency and parallelism
- Testing
- Data structures
