According to both Cardano Blockchain Insight and pool.pm, the Cardano (ADA) network has maintained a record capacity of nearly two weeks thanks to the launch of the decentralized exchange, or DEX, SundaeSwap.
At the same time, the total value locked down for the ADA blockchain hit an all-time high of around $80 million, despite the token’s recent price drop due to the ongoing market downturn.
The current average blockchain load on the network hovers around 93.19%. This means that 93.19% of the blocks are filled. For example, the tax was only 32.49% on New Year’s Eve. The number of ADA wallets is also about to break the 3 million mark.

Dissatisfied users
However, the network approaching full capacity due to the addition of only one DEX raised many questions from angry users. While scaling fixes are coming soon, Reddit user Additional_Till_838 pointed out the following:
“This isn’t fun because it paints a picture of Cardano’s blockchain being overloaded and struggling to handle the load. This could deter investors from Cardano and make them think it is not a reliable blockchain network.”
Not everything went smoothly during the launch of SundaeSwap. Soon, user reports of failed transactions began to circulate widely on social media. At this point, users are still claiming that their DEX orders remain unprocessed.
“This has been a huge disappointment. I tried at least 20 times to exchange ADA for Sundae and nothing happened”, says one disgruntled SundaeSwap user.
In addition, the platform is mired in a published commercial dispute regarding allegations of failed investor promises with Cardano accelerator program CardStarter. Even Charles Hoskinson joined in the debacle. He told the two sides to “get things in order!” and resolve their disputes through arbitration or litigation.
