Tell us something about yourself, where are you based and what is your background?</h3>TREK is a single-person operation. I (Rob) do all of the operating and the marketing for the pool, including handling all of the social media accounts. My wife is a huge supporter and takes care of many off-line things for the family to allow me the time to commit to making the pool more successful. We have 5 kids and live in Western Iowa. We have an acreage and run a small hobby farm. I&rsquo;ve had a long career in law enforcement and security, so working with computers and blockchains is pretty new to me.&nbsp;<h3>How did you find out about Cardano and what prompted you to launch a stake pool?</h3>I originally found out about cryptocurrencies (BTC and ETH) from a friend of mine back in 2018. I was at his place one day looking to buy some cows from him, actually. I&rsquo;m a total city-boy and had no experience with animals at all, but I wanted to get a few cows for my new farm and he was looking to get rid of his small herd. In one of his outbuildings he had a massive crypto mining operation. He ended up explaining cryptocurrencies to me over the next several hours and it piqued my interest. I started researching when I got home and immediately came across Cardano.&nbsp;I began buying Cardano over the next 2+ years and started staking the day Shelley went live. After several months of making noise for many great stake pools, I decided I wanted to have my own pool. Since I didn&rsquo;t have the computer skills, I relied heavily on the help of a few SPO friends (Amanda -DEAD and Keith -POWER) to help me learn and grow in order to acquire the skills necessary to operate my own pool. It was a big learning curve and it took some time, and TREK would not be here without the help and patience of my friends (who I met by staking to their pools early on).<h3>What are your thoughts on the NFT space on Cardano? Do you have any favourite projects? Tell us more</h3>I&rsquo;m learning more about NFTs all the time. I&rsquo;ve missed out on so many great projects because I haven&rsquo;t truly understood them.&nbsp;My favourite project right now is the Mandala Metaverse. I was invited to be a part of this project by my friend Ray (GROW Pool). The more I looked into the project, the more excited I became with it. There is an NFT component, and it is a very important part of the project, but Mandala is more about your consciousness and improving the reality around you in order to better yourself and the world. Mandala incorporates NFTs (collecting and staking) with an MMORPG, a virtual-reality simulator, comic books (Dark Horse publishers) and more. It is a way to incorporate who you are as a person into the game, and the NFT is a way to further develop who you are as a person and who you are as a character within the Mandala Metaverse. It sounds amazing and I&rsquo;m extremely excited for it!Another thing I am excited about is Adosia. This is the brainchild of Kyle (FROG Pool, SpaceCoins, Jet Chickens, DripDropz CEO, etc). This is going to be an expansive project and I was fortunate enough to be asked to help out. The part of Adosia that I am helping out with is literally printing 3D models of actual NFTs! How cool will it be to purchase a unique NFT (whether it be a SpaceCoins Rocket, a SpaceBudz, a Goat Tribe Goat or whatever) and be able to get a physical 3D print of the item as well?!? Adosia will initially be releasing their own NFT with the option to purchase the physical item as well, and take this level of manufacturing and partner with other NFT projects in order to make physical NFTs for their customers. I am really excited about where this could go!<h3>As an Earth Node Operator, what will your role be in the World Mobile ecosystem? How are they going to connect the unconnected?</h3>World Mobile is a telecoms company that is using the Cardano Blockchain in order to further its reach and enhance the capabilities of their network. My understanding is that all of the usage information and user records will be stored on the blockchain. Earth Nodes will be utilised to gather the data and bring it to the blockchain, much like stake pools do for the Cardano Network.&nbsp;We are still waiting on World Mobile to provide us with much of the information and we have only recently been given the technical specs required to operate the Earth Nodes. There are still a lot of questions to be answered, but our hope is that World Mobile is able to bring telecoms and internet to millions throughout Africa and that our Earth Nodes are able to help in that process by securing the blockchain for World Mobile. If I can, in some small way, help World Mobile secure their network in order to allow them to better focus on helping those throughout the world gain connectivity, I would feel like I&rsquo;m doing something good to benefit others.&nbsp;<h3>Thank you kindly for your time. Any final words? Where can people stay in touch?</h3>TREK will be announcing an NFT launch AND a small stake pool initiative in the coming weeks. The aim of the NFT sale is to provide funds to stake to many small stake pools. The small stake pool initiative will not only provide stake to multiple small pools throughout the world, but will encourage other SPOs, NFT Projects and private companies to do the same. Happy to connect today and learn more about the Mercury for WooCommerce project! Can you tell us more about the project and what is the problem that you were addressing?With Cardano Mercury for WooCommerce, my goal was to make a simple and accessible solution to bridge traditional e-commerce with the Cardano Blockchain. WooCommerce is one of the largest open-source e-commerce platforms in the industry. So it was only natural to create a similarly open-source, fee-free payment gateway to bridge Cardano to WooCommerce. One of the most significant barriers to entry in the cryptocurrency industry is the need to trade back and forth between fiat and crypto. Mercury aims to eliminate that friction point by allowing merchants and shoppers to transact directly with one another with the currency of the future. What are the most important things about Mercury for WooCommerce?Probably the most important point about Mercury for WooCommerce is that there are zero fees, zero accounts required, and zero tracking. When developing Mercury, the goal was not to profit but to help drive adoption and utilize the blockchain to connect customers directly to vendors. The software is relatively simple and easily auditable. It aims to use free or low-cost APIs (including the amazing Blockfrost Cardano API by Five Binaries) and services** to minimize the financial impact to vendors. Going forward, how will Mercury make an impact in the crypto space or on the world?I hope that Mercury will open the door to much larger, mainstream adoption of Cardano (and cryptocurrencies in general) through normalization. For example, suppose we can normalize the usage and transact cryptocurrencies as currency rather than simply a store of wealth mechanism. In that case, we can drive greater adoption by making safe, secure, and auditable transaction history available to vendors and shoppers worldwide. What are your accomplishments so far, and what are you most proud of?To date, I’m most proud of having been able to release and open source the code for Mercury via GitHub to the Cardano and WooCommerce community without the need for funding and simply working in my spare time. Of course, there are many features and improvements I’m eager to make to the code and looking forward to ongoing development for the foreseeable future. Why should people choose to use Mercury? What are the advantages over its competitors?To be honest, there are no true competitors to Mercury that I’m aware of at this time. No Middle Man for WooCommerce is another open-source plugin that offers a host of cryptocurrency options without fees or middlemen. However, the Cardano integration for No Middle Man has not been updated since the Byron era. I view No Middle Man as a spiritual predecessor of Mercury and thank the contributors of that project for their open-source work. I believe that people should choose their financial freedom, which is why merchants should decide to use Mercury. With no fees and no hassle, it’s a no-brainer for merchants to choose to accept Cardano (ada) payments on their website quickly and easily and thereby enable the financial freedom of their customers. Tell us about your team. Who are the people behind Mercury?I am the primary developer of Mercury for WooCommerce. I have been a Cardano stake pool owner/operator since the ITN (Ticker: BUFFY) and have always strived to support the Cardano community in every way possible. </ul><hr>Orion Protocol, whose <a href="https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/orion-protocol-price-chart/">ORN token</a> has risen from $3.36 to $19.79 since Feb. 01 and is ranked 227th by market cap, has partnered with IOHK to become the first liquidity aggregator for the Cardano blockchain. The Orion team and IOG will work together to promote the scalability and sustainability of <a href="https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/what-is-cardano-ada-the-best-3rd-generation-blockchain/">Cardano</a>&lsquo;s DeFi and NFT space.
As <a href="https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/orion-protocol-goes-chain-agnostic-and-integrates-binance-smart-chain-elrond/">CNF reported</a>, the Orion Protocol is a decentralized gateway to the crypto market that allows its users decentralized access to liquidity from popular exchanges like Binance, KuCoin and BitMax &ndash; without having to open an account &ndash; as well as decentralized alternatives like Uniswap. The so-called Orion Terminal went live on March 31 with support for the Ethereum blockchain and the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
In addition to Cardano, other blockchains such as Huobi&rsquo;s HECO Chain, Avalanche and Elrond are expected to follow in the coming weeks. For Orion Protocol, the integration of the Cardano blockchain infrastructure is expected to &ldquo;play a significant role in enabling far greater interoperability, scalability, and performance of the protocol and each solution &ndash; from flagship product Orion Terminal to Orion NFT Aggregator.&rdquo; Alexey Koloskov, CEO and Co-Founder of Orion Protocol stated:

		<h2>Winners of Project Catalyst&rsquo;s Fund 3 announced</h2>
Meanwhile, the winners of Fund 3 from Project Catalyst, the <a href="https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/cardano-project-catalyst-becomes-the-worlds-largest-dao-in-just-7-months/">world&rsquo;s largest decentralized autonomous organization (DAO)</a> aimed at funding the Cardano ecosystem, were announced yesterday. In total, 20 projects will receive a total of $500,000 in ADA, with the Liqwid Finance project receiving the most votes with 1.6 billion upvotes, followed by Adosia&rsquo;s &ldquo;Ada Tx to Trigger IoT + IO HW Spins&rdquo; with 787 million upvotes and the &ldquo;Comprehensive NFT Framework Collab&rdquo; proposal with 693 million upvotes.
As <a href="https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/liqwid-finance-moving-closer-to-challenging-aave-and-compound-but-on-cardano/">CNF reported</a>, Liqwid Finance is developing a borrowing and lending protocol on Cardano. Liqwid will allow its users to earn the LQ Governance token by providing liquidity without losing their staking rewards.
With the &ldquo;Ada Tx to Trigger IoT + IO HW Spins&rdquo;, the Adosia team aims to solve the problem that there is currently no solution to enable arbitrary Internet of Things (IoT) actions as a result of receiving a payment in ADA. Adosia is already a fully functional end-to-end utility application that allows users to create, define and deploy custom Wi-Fi control systems.
Collab intendeds to become a comprehensive NFT framework that coordinates all NFT projects on Cardano into a DAO. The NFT DAO envisions an open-source compatible NFT framework for all, technical and non-technical users to &ldquo;easily&rdquo; run industry-specific tokenized asset marketplaces.
