Noto Peninsula Earthquake, Polygon, Palette, Cardano and others start fundraising project | CoinDesk JAPAN

An earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 7 and a magnitude of 7.6 occurred in Ishikawa Prefecture on the 1st of this month, causing widespread damage mainly in the Noto region. Eight blockchain projects, including Polygon and Cardano, are utilizing crypto assets (virtual currency). We have started an initiative to collect donations.

This time, the companies running the “#web3prayforjapan” campaign are Palette Chain, TRON, Cardano, Polygon, Neo, Qtum, Mask Network, and IOST. Each project will open a donation window using their own tokens (crypto assets) and call for donations from their respective communities.

The donated crypto assets will be exchanged into Japanese yen for each project, excluding gas fees (transaction fees) and taxes, and donated to the Red Feather Community Chest’s “Relief Fund for the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake (tentative)”. ” will be donated to. The fundraising period is at the end of January, and the plan is to make donations by the end of February. After the donation is completed, the results will be published on the HashPalette homepage.

As a result of this earthquake, Ishikawa Prefecture announced on the 4th that 84 people had died and 179 people were missing. Hokkoku Bank, headquartered in Kanazawa City, is preparing to issue Japan’s first deposit-type stablecoin (digital currency linked to legal currency). Support measures are being taken for recovery.
