  • Intersect, a member-based organization for the Cardano ecosystem, today hosts its first Annual Members Meeting (AMM) in Tokyo where attendees will speak on Cardano budgets, the blockchain’s roadmap and more.
  • There will be a total of seven events, finishing in Texas on October 19th, with a virtual option also available so every member of the blockchain can be involved in this vital governance action.
  • During this period the over 3,000-strong organization is also holding a vote for new committee and board members to help shape the future of the Cardano ecosystem.

8am (ET) Thursday 3rd October: Intersect, a member-based organization for the Cardano ecosystem, is hosting a series of Annual Member’s Meetings (AMMs) starting today in Tokyo Japan. These meetings, concluding in Texas on October 19th are a vital part of the organization’s work towards pioneering a new form of governance.

At these meetings, members will discuss Cardano’s product roadmap, Cardano’s 2025 budget, how Intersect can continue to support Cardano’s on-chain governance, the organization’s regional hubs, as well as the upcoming committee elections and governing board seats. The committee and governing board seat elections (opening October 4th to 20th) demonstrate Intersect’s member-led mission, putting members at the heart of the operation and future.

This is an integral part of the Voltaire era, the fifth stage of Cardano that will provide the final pieces required for the Cardano network to become a self-sustaining system. The Cardano ecosystem has been entering into this era with the first Chang upgrade live on mainnet on September 1st, 2024. With upgrade #1 now complete, late 2024 will see upgrade #2 triggered by the newly formed Interim Constitutional Committee in conjunction with our stakepool operators, bringing the final on-chain governance features to Cardano.

With Intersect now having membership in over 80 countries, the AMMs are another key milestone as their members develop off-chain processes to, ultimately, drive better outcomes on-chain.

Jack Briggs, Ecosystem Director at Intersect, commented “our inaugural AMMs are a culmination of a year of progress and learnings, and epitomize the true meaning of community governance, ensuring the voices of the community are heard. Our members and all of those within the Cardano ecosystem have equal right to say how we develop the blockchain in the future and these meetings are a part of that journey.”
