One-Stop Dao Management We navigated many challenges while creating the first DAO on Cardano. Summon Platform is built on knowledge gained on that journey, designed to make it easy for any community to create their DAO. The emergence of Web3 technologies presents an opportunity to shift organizational structures toward more cooperative models of governance. Rather than a single individual or small group of people at the top governing an organization, algorithmic protocols can gauge policy sentiment in a given community of participants, serving as an electronic agent to execute consensus decisions. In Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), thousands of people can be empowered to coordinate within a transparent set of rules. Communities starting out on Cardano today are grasping for products that enable them to achieve the kind of decentralization offered by a DAO’s structure. While some organizations may choose not to become a full DAO, they may want to offer a mechanism of community governance and coordination. A great step towards this design is made possible through the use of Native-Scripts for voting and spending; however, it doesn’t scale to allow for DAO-driven protocols, or to empower millions of users to partake in the governance of a single DAO. ADAOcommunity, a Cardano DAO focused on open-source development, was formed to meet this need and write open-source software. From the Core Contributors of ADAO, the Summon team formed to create a new platform that will implement these technologies in a way that is accessible to all Cardano users.

<h2 style="margin-left:auto;">Community governance in action</h2>In late May, we opened up applications to join the first interim Constitutional Committee (ICC), the body that will uphold the <a href="https://constitution.gov.tools/en">interim Constitution</a>&nbsp;and vote on the very first on-chain governance actions. Many individuals, organizations, and consortia from across the community applied to take on this significant responsibility. In doing so, and regardless of the outcome, they have contributed to the developing maturity and strengthening of Cardano’s governance.The 21 applicants got together on X to introduce themselves and their candidacy to over 7,000 community members who tuned in. The community as a whole has been voting for its three representatives on the ICC to sit alongside pioneer entities IOG, EMURGO, and the Cardano Foundation, and member-based organization, Intersect.<h2 style="margin-left:auto;">The results are in…</h2>The election saw 455, 779, 792, 149, 846 (455, 779, 792 ada) staked and 1947 unique votes. Meet the interim Constitutional Committee

We are pleased to share that the Interim Constitution is now live and available to read.This interim Constitution provides the basic rules needed to implement CIP-1694. It's temporary and will be replaced by a final Constitution, which Ada holders will ratify in late 2024 or early 2025. The final version may be quite different, depending on what the Cardano community wants.You’ll find it on the new <a href="https://constitution.gov.tools/en">Constitutional Committee Portal</a>, the information hub for the interim Constitution and the interim Constitutional Committee. We are also hosting a copy on our <a href="https://docs.intersectmbo.org/cardano/cardano-governance/interim-constitution">Knowledge Base</a>&nbsp;and Github repository.<h2 style="margin-left:auto;">Making governance accessible to all</h2>The publication of the interim Constitution and the technical guardrails marks the next step towards having a candidate node to bring on-chain decision making to Cardano. The Interim Constitution is not a fully elaborated constitution, but rather a set of essential rules that are designed to ensure Cardano maintains stability during the interim period. Later this summer, SPOs and the community will continue testing as nodes upgrade to enter the bootstrapping phase. Amid this pivotal governance update, Pi Lanningham, CTO of Sundae Labs—a Cardano-based project—<a href="https://x.com/IOHK_Charles/status/1803559240000324024" target="_blank">expressed</a> reservations about the current voting process, particularly concerning the non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) surrounding the draft constitution.
