Cardano Creator Predicts ADA, Ethereum, and XRP Will Lead the Market Cycle

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has expressed confidence that Cardano (ADA), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP will be among the strongest performers in the current cryptocurrency market cycle.

He shared this perspective during an episode of the Gokhstein Media podcast, released on February 13, in a discussion about market trends and future outlooks.

Market Resilience and Instituti;.onal Influence

Hoskinson dismissed speculation that the ongoing bull market was nearing its end, arguing instead that market momentum remained strong. He pointed to the market’s rapid recovery from the downturn on February 3 as evidence of its resilience. On that day, widespread liquidations affected over 700,000 leveraged traders, erasing more than $2 billion in positions.

The downturn was triggered by newly announced tariffs from former U.S. President Donald Trump. Hoskinson noted that while recovery from past major collapses, such as the FTX and LUNA crises, took nearly two years, this market correction reversed in just two days.

According to Hoskinson, the swift rebound highlights a significant shift in the crypto market’s structure. He attributed this resilience to increased institutional involvement, describing the current cycle as the first to be primarily driven by institutional investors.

This shift, he suggested, has led to a stronger focus on well-established cryptocurrencies, sometimes referred to as “dinosaur coins.” He argued that assets like ADA, ETH, and XRP, which have a long-standing presence in the market, are viewed as more stable and reliable compared to newer projects.

Performance of ADA, ETH, and XRP

Recent market trends support this view, with Cardano (ADA) and XRP achieving substantial triple-digit percentage gains in the fourth quarter of 2024. Additionally, these assets and Ethereum, have drawn considerable interest from firms seeking to launch exchange-traded funds (ETFs), further reinforcing their relevance in institutional portfolios.

Bitcoin’s Future and Long-Term Market Outlook

Despite his confidence in ADA, ETH, and XRP, Hoskinson maintained that Bitcoin would remain the dominant cryptocurrency. He predicted that as more nations adopt Bitcoin as part of their financial reserves, its value could rise significantly, potentially reaching at least $250,000.

This view contrasts with an earlier prediction by well-known analyst EGRAG CRYPTO, who suggested that XRP could gain enough market traction to achieve a 20% dominance over Bitcoin.

When discussing the timeline for the next market surge, Hoskinson estimated that the upward trend could resume within six to twelve months. He identified regulatory developments—particularly those concerning stablecoins—as a crucial factor in determining market direction.

He hopes that once stablecoin regulations are implemented, U.S. policymakers will turn their attention to broader issues such as token classification and custody regulations, providing further clarity for the industry.

However, in the immediate future, however, Hoskinson cautioned that market conditions would likely remain volatile. While the overall trajectory appears positive, investors should be prepared for fluctuations as the market grows.
