DOT And ADA Spike 8% As Bitcoin Remains Calm At $50K

DOT and ADA spike 8% on the day as Bitcoin remained calm at $50,000 as we are taking a closer look at today’s altcoin news.

After the 24-hour hiatus below the $50K price range, Bitcoin bounced off and reclaimed it as the rest of the altcoins are in the green, and DOT and ADA spike 8% and stole the show on the daily scale. A few days ago right before Christmas, when the main cryptocurrency struggled at $48,000 after the many unsuccessful attempts to overcome $50,000 and the landscape changed at the point when the bulls initiated a huge increase that resulted in breaking above the level. Bitcoin kept increasing in the next few hours and came close to $52,000 for the highest price line in more than two weeks. BTC dumped by a thousand dollars and found itself below $50,000 once again.

The asset reclaimed the line in the past 24 hours and reached $52,000 and as of now, BTC stands above $50,500 with a market cap north of $950 billion. Most alternative coins mimicked Bitcoin’s performance and the past 24 hours are quite similar. ETH went down to $4000 but the minor daily increases reaffirmed the stance above the particular level. Solana, Ripple, Binance Coin, Dogecoin, and SHIB are in the green while Terra marked minor retracement.

Avalanche jumped by 4.5% in one day to above $115 but Cardano and Polkadot stole the show with 8% increases and ADA now stand close to $1.55 while DOT reclaimed $30. More gains came from Kadena that increased 26%, Zilliqa 15%, Theta 14%, Helium by 12%, Monero by 11%, and Aave increased by 13%. The crypto market cap is up by $50 billion since a day ago and it is close to $2.4 trillion.

As recently reported, After nearing $52,000 earlier this weekend, Bitcoin lost some ground but still stands near the $50,000 coveted mark. The other altcoins are calm as well with ETH closing to $4000 while MATIC surged by 7% on a daily scale. Days before Christmas, the main cryptocurrency dropped to $48,000 after failing to surpass the $50,000 price point but the bulls then came at play and pushed the asset north. In the next few hours, Bitcoin started adding more value and surged above its nemesis level. It kept increasing and neared $52,000 which became the highest price line in over two weeks.
