Cardano Vasil HardFork: These Exchanges Support the Upcoming Upgrade

Cardano’s (ADA) much anticipated Vasil upgrade is only moments away. The project has ticked all the boxes necessary for the upgrade to take place. Apart from the Vasil upgrade, there is also the Plutus V2 Cost Model network upgrade which is scheduled to take place on the 27th of September.

Major exchanges have extended their support for the upgrade, Binance being the latest to join the bandwagon.

Major Exchanges in support of Cardano’s Vasil upgrade

Binance: The world’s largest crypto exchange announced its support of the upgrade via a tweet and an official blog. The exchange stated that it would suspend ADA deposit and withdrawal at 2022-09-22 20:45 (UTC) and 2022-09-27 20:45 (UTC), and would resume once the upgraded network is stable.

Crypto.com: Crypto.com has also extended its support for the upgrade. The exchange will also suspend deposit and withdrawal on 22 Sep 2022, 18:00 UTC, and 27 September 2022, 18:00 UTC, until the upgrade has been completed.

Gate.io: Gate.io has supported Cardano’s Vasil upgrade for some time now. The exchange posted an ADA giveaway back in July celebrating the upgrade.

Apart from the aforementioned exchanges, others such as Kraken, HitBTC, KUcoin, etc. have also extended their support for the upgrade. Like the others, deposit and withdrawal will remain closed when the upgrade commences, and restart once the network is stable again. Among the major exchanges, only Coinbase‘s support was pending. However, the firm confirmed its support via a tweet this morning.

Coinbase will be pausing deposits and withdrawals for Cardano (ADA) across https://t.co/Zkd27RUMRo, Coinbase Pro, Coinbase Exchange, and Coinbase Prime on or around 2pm PT on 9/22, for the Cardano Vasil hardfork.

The much-hyped and awaited upgrade will be Cardano’s biggest upgrade since the Alonzo hard fork in September 2021. The Vasil upgrade will give smart contract enhancements, lower costs, and increased throughput. According to IOHK, one of the most significant changes will be fast block creation. The upgrade was initially scheduled for a June launch but was delayed twice due to bugs.

The Vasil upgrade bears the name of the late artist and ADA ambassador Vasil Stoyanov Dabov. Dabov passed away in December 2021 from a pulmonary embolism.

At press time, Cardano (ADA) was trading at $0.454803, up by 1.4% in the last 24 hours.
