Cardano: Millions in ADA Will Be Stolen Next Year, Says Charles Hoskinson

In a recent YouTube video, Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson spoke about the future of crypto scams. Hoskinson said that millions worth of ADA will be stolen by “this time next year because of generative AI.” Hoskinson cautions that the rise of generative artificial intelligence (AI) will lead to an increase in crypto scams.

Recalling his repeated warnings, Hoskinson says that people “don’t get something for nothing.” Because of AI, Hosakinson says there will be videos and audio clips asking people to invest insome chain or coin. He, however, will never ask people to do so.

According to the Cardano founder, the only way to verify an identity is by using a “PGP key.”

What is PGP Key and why did the Cardano founder ask to use it?

PGP key stands for Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) key. PGP is a program for encryption and decryption used for verification purposes in data communications. The program allows cryptographic privacy features as well.

AI has taken center stage in global tech of late. ChatGPT one of the most popular chatbots out there has taken the sector to new heights. However, many have warned about the downsides of AI.

The Cardano founder is not alone in his beliefs about AI. Google’s Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, who was a pioneer in the field, quit the company so that he could openly speak about the dangers of AI. Dr. Hinton was nicknamed the “Godfather of AI.” Coming from someone like Dr. Hinton, we should probably tae caution with the technology that we are playing with.

Moreover, even Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai has said that society is not ready for the advancements made by artificial intelligence. Elon Musk, one of the initial funders of OpenAI, the firm behind ChatGPT, has also spoken about the dangers of the technology.

Although the future looks more and more digital everyday, we as a species will have to take caution over what we create. Many countries have banned ChatGPT over privacy fears. However, there aren’t any clear laws of regulations around the emerging technology.
