Cardano even more interoperable. Now it connects to Nervos

IOHK has announced its collaboration with China’s leading public blockchain , Nervos , to link it to Cardano .

IOHK is the lead developer on the Cardano blockchain and is working on a bridge between the two blockchains to allow users to transact interchangeably with the native currencies of Nervos (CKB) and Cardano (ADA).

The bridge will reduce transaction costs between the two blockchains and will also allow the creation of your own tokens on both blockchains to remove inefficiencies, complexity, potential bugs and unnecessary costs.

The bridge between Nervos and Cardano

Nervos is a collection of protocols and a public blockchain ecosystem, based on Nervos Common Knowledge Base (CKB), or its permissionless level 1 blockchain protocol that uses Proof-of-Work, but with the addition of second layers for scaling, and smart contract.

The bridge developed by IOHK will be Cardano’s first cross-chain bridge, and will also allow developers from both chains to access services and features to expand their dApps.

IOHK CTO Romain Pellerin said:

“Similar to how the Internet was built from the interconnection of extranets (which connected intranets), we believe that blockchain will achieve mass adoption by interconnecting public blockchain networks. Therefore, end users are not locked into a particular network or standard and can seamlessly access value and utility, regardless of the underlying blockchain network they are using. As a result, bridges are not just a necessity to ensure a seamless experience for users, they will become the norm, allowing underlying blockchains to take a back seat as a transport layer. By connecting blockchain communities and finding innovative ways to work together, as we did with Nervos,

Nervos co-founder Kevin Wang added:

“Creating a bridge to connect Nervos Network and Cardano is particularly exciting given the relationship we have already built with IOHK. We have expanded our R&D partnership, but now we have a tangible bridge that will also showcase the power of the Force Bridge and push us further along the road to a functional interoperable network. ”

The Mousebelt blockchain accelerator will also contribute to the construction of the bridge , with financial support in the form of a grant from Nervos.
