There is an ALONZO UPDATE from IOHK. The Alonzo Purple is ready, and they have started off the onboarding process. This is the next best step in the Cardano network.
The OG community testers have made it past the Blue and White phases, and now Alonzo Purple will be the first fully public Cardano testnet to support smart contracts. This is a significant step in the rollout of smart contracts expected to happen in August or early September.
About 150+ strong test teams are joining the new Alonzo Purple network in the new Discord channel.
Also, IOHK have extended priority invitation to 300 graduates from the Plutus Pioneer program. The developer education course is training 000s of developers to code Plutus smart contract.
When the initial Alonzo Purple team gets on board, they will fork the network and open Alonzo Purple to any developer who wishes to join.
They have already been engaging with several exchanges on Alonzo White. With Alonzo Purple, they are set to broaden this further, adding more exchanges. This integration work will be driven by Cardano Stiftung integration team led by Mel, which is crucial to success.
They ensure they have as many exchanges as possible to be ‘Alonzo HF-ready’ when they hard fork the network. This will ensure their customers with uninterrupted deposit/withdrawal access to ADA, and thus they will not have to wait for it to be sorted at a later point in time.
Getting the folks on board promptly and integrating is thus set to be the major focus this month.
Details about the exchange integration work will be published next week. And, thus users will be able to see when their preferred exchange is Alonzo ready.
While Alonzo’s progress is good, the latest tentative Alonzo HFC dates are set to be updated soon. They still have a way to go. More bugs are expected, and further bumps are ahead in the road. This is just a testnet. There is a lot of integration, testing, and ongoing optimization happening.
