Charles Hoskinson Expressed: It’s extraordinary to me the level of skepticism about our upcoming smart contract launch. It’s not something like SCs will be underwhelming, but rather it simply won’t happen. The critics say it with biblical level certainty. We should start a fund to pay for their therapy.
When someone said, “It seems weird that you made a promise of smart contracts in prior years & price pumped as a result of your promises, but no smart contracts in 2019 or 2020.”
A sensible community member clarified: There were never promises; there’s always been a roadmap. It’s always been in the open, nothing hidden ever.
Meanwhile: I haven’t been keeping up to date with the latest Cardano news. Anyone know of the release date of smart contracts has been made final? I believe it’s supposed to be the end of August or the first week of September. Can anyone correct me?
Close, but not precise Smart contracts aren’t set in some specific weeks or timeframes of September, but rather are set for September in general two months ago. Charles made it clear, though, to “manage expectations” and not get ahead of ourselves. Delays may happen.
IT projects have the chance to do on the final lines, but as he said, we’re talking about delays set max 1-2 weeks. Everything seems to go smooth on the testnet, though & Plutus pioneers are happily developing. In the absolute worst case, we’ll get them in October. I’m looking for September.
Others: Wondering if the price may crash after smart contracts? That doesn’t answer the question, though. It’s normal for price to crash as early investors lock in profits.
Community response: It doesn’t matter what the skeptics think. Haters will hate, just like bears will be bearish.
The proof is coming. ADA OGs are united. A good project will eventually get results. It’s definitely the people who can’t and won’t pursue their dreams who are skeptical about the Cardano Smart contract.
