Wonder Woman Is An Angel Investor In This Cardano Protocol

It turns out that the famous actress known for her role in the popular Wonder Woman series is also an avid Cardano DeFi enthusiast.

Crypto is one of the most diverse industries that I’ve ever experienced. It attracts Russian oligarchs, tech company CEOS, and of course, Hollywood actresses as well. Gal Gadot, the Wonderwoman, appears to be in crypto a lot deeper than we might have expected, as she just shed light on one of her angel investments in the Cardano ecosystem.

A press release from AdaSwap revealed that Gal Gadot and her husband were angel investors as part of a $2.6 million funding round for the upcoming Cardano decentralized exchange (DEX) AdaSwap.

Leading the investment round were multiple investment firms and other angel investors such as iAngels, Shima Capital, Pluto Digital, GBV, Stardust, Efficient Frontier, Finova, Banter Capital, and Coti.

Since Q1 of 2021, AdaSwap has undergone heavy development through seed rounds, stablecoin partnerships, and more. The platform is also expected to bring an AMM (automated market maker) interface for its DEX, Stake & Forget protocols. Additionally, the team plans on creating bridges for Cardano with Ethereum, BSC, and Casper tokens by March 2023.

The $2.6 million should help to kickstart this roadmap, which begins with an NFT marketplace.

Celebrities Gone Crypto

Reese Witherspoon is another major mainstream access who has already planted her flag in the crypto industry. Back in December 2021, Witherspoon was seen floating around the Crypto community online and even went as far as buying her own World of Woman NFT.

Hollywood isn’t the only industry that crypto is capturing the attention of. Professional sports athletes and musicians have also woken up to the digital revolution and are doing their part to grow the industry.

One of the most popular celebrities to undergo a “crypto baptism” is none other than the infamous Snoop Dogg. Known on Crypto Twitter as “Cozomo de’ Medici“, the rapper has taken his career down the NFT rabbit hole in an effort to normalize crypto in the music landscape. Now, Snoop Dog seems to be more of a CryptoPunk fan, but a long list of celebrities have “aped in” to Bored Ape NFTs. This list includes Steve Aoki, Dez Bryant, Steph Curry, Shaquille O’Neal, Future, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, and more. The trend has only just begun, it seems, and while some athletes don’t go much deeper into crypto beyond owning NFTs, the Wonder Woman Gal Gadot looks to be doing her homework after choosing to invest in a nascent DeFi protocol on Cardano.
