The First Âtrium DAO Incentivised testnet is now closed. In this article we will document its phenomenal success and provide data surrounding its achievements.

Our second incentivized testnet themed around our second smart-contract is coming soon. We currently have the smart-contract integrated on our internal version, we’re improving the user expierence before we release it.

Objective

The Staking Baskets Incentivised Testnet launched on the 20th February 2024. The goal of the testnet was to see how the Staking Baskets smart contract would operate under intense usage, and to allow bugs to emerge in a safe testnet environment. We also wanted to gather user feedback, to see how we could increase the user experience of our application as we get closer to mainnet.

Method

A guide was created on Medium which taught users how to create a testnet Cardano wallet on Eternl, and claim some tAda from the faucet. From there users were given a list of tasks to perform to help with rigorous testing on the Âtrium interface. The testnet was first released to a small group of 15 testers, where preliminary bugs were identified with the user interface. From there it was opened up to OG users in the Âtrium Discord channel, for a week before being opened up to the wider public.

Conclusion

The support and excitement surrounding the Staking Basket testnet has been profound. A simple search on Twitter during the testnet period revealed thousands of encouraging and supportive tweets from users who unanimously shared their delight. Bugs with withdrawing and depositing were identified and corrected swiftly leaving behind a solid interface that works well under pressure.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who took the time to try the Âtrium interface, leaving their feedback and suggestions. It has been an incredibly useful process for helping the team shape the final product in preparation for mainnet release.
