Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) are two of the leading smart contract layer-one blockchains in crypto, supported by passionate communities. With that, Finbold decided to ask an artificial intelligence (AI) whether SOL or ADA make a better buy for 2025.
Previously, we asked the same question about Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH), and about Ripple’s XRP or Stellar Lumens (XLM).
While traders and investors can get valuable insights from these reports, however, it is important to understand that AIs have a limited knowledge and output capacity, requiring further research to make better financial decisions.
Picks for you
Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) analysis in 2025
Right now, SOL is trading at $239.33, up 20.85% year-to-date (YTD), accumulating nearly 200% gains in a year. ADA, on the other hand, struggles around the $1 psychological resistance, trading at $0.99 per token, up 13.95% YTD. In one year, Cardano accumulates over 100% gains – and both chains saw most profits after November 2024.
At these prices, Solana is valued at $116.6 billion market cap, while ADA has a $35.5 billion capitalization.
Grok AI picks between SOL or ADA as the best buy for 2025
In this context, Finbold consulted with Grok 2, an artificial intelligence model developed by xAI that challenges the legacy web. Elon Musk’s AI considered all the information we shared above, plus real-time analysis on the web, including the X platform.
For this insight, Grok considered several factors to pick between Solana or Cardano as a better buy for 2025. Including, “Performance and Market Sentiment,” “Technological Developments,” and “Investment Considerations.”
On the first, Grok commented about both SOL and ADA performances, suggesting growing investors’ confidence and strong momentum.
From a technical perspective, Solana thrives with high throughput, speed, and low fees, but has had network stability issues. Cardano’s focus is on its methodical and research-driven approach, also offering fast transactions, but not as fast as Solana.
As an investment, Grok believes Solana “might be seen as a better buy for those looking at short to medium-term gains.” At the same time, Cardano “could be more appealing for investors interested in long-term value,” said the AI.
The cryptocurrency market is highly volatile while maturing from the innovation phase, which means it offers a high variety of projects and investment opportunities for diversification. Grok also recognizes that, concluding that neither Solana nor Cardano is inherently a better buy for 2025.
In closing, investors must consider their profile, strategy, risk tolerance, and belief in the technology’s future.
