The developer said even the suggestion of an issue “leads to a multi-day panic.”</p><p lang="en" dir="ltr">We have such a hush-hush culture that even hinting at some test network issue leads to a multi-day panic. And direction communication channels are available via Discord. He later <a href="https://twitter.com/IOHK_Charles/status/1562121583891607552">added</a> that having technical and quality assurance discussions on Twitter, Reddit, and Telegram “serves no purpose and just harms progress.”</p><h2>Latest update on the “<span>catastrophically</span> broken” Vasil upgrade</h2><p>The Vasil upgrade was delayed for a <a href="https://cryptoslate.com/cardano-founder-addresses-vasil-hard-fork-delay-says-rollout-shouldnt-be-much-longer/">second time</a> on July 28 after discovering three separate bugs. At the time, Hoskinson commented that the latest 1.35.3 version is likely the one to survive the hard fork and upgrade to Vasil and added that the upgrade rollout would not take much longer.</p><p>However, on August 18, Dean posted a tweet thread detailing how the Vasil testnet is “catastrophically broken.” The developer said rushed delivery revealed incompatible forks and “a decrease to chain density.”</p><p lang="en" dir="ltr">🧵 (1/n) It's important to point out today that the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Cardano?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Cardano</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Testnet?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Testnet</a> is **catastrophically** broken due to a bug in Cardano Node v 1.35.2. Moreover, the testing of 1.35.3 is fractured due to the existence of multiple testnets for that software version.</p><p>Commenting on this, Hoskinson said the bugs were known about for “quite some time,” and the response deployed was to “roll back” for correction. He added that “all of these things have been resolved,” and heavy testing of version 1.35.3 has given the team a high degree of confidence that the code is solid.</p><p>With that, Hoskinson dismissed the narrative that Vasil has quality issues.</p></div></div></div>
