EMURGO and Huawei Cloud Partnership Update

Nearly 100 days after the announcement of a major partnership between EMURGO and Huawei Cloud, notable support initiatives have already begun for the Cardano ecosystem.

EMURGO brings its extensive experience in the blockchain and Web3 sector as a strategic partner. Huawei brings its cloud infrastructure into Cardano’s open-source public blockchain ecosystem to further globally distribute and secure the network.

Huawei Cloud is the leading cloud service brand under technology giant Huawei and is one of the world’s largest cloud computing companies.

Through this partnership, Cardano developers will also be able to leverage Huawei Cloud’s expansive network and computing resources to build innovative Web3 solutions within the Cardano blockchain by gaining access to Huawei’s Marketplace (KooGallery), a platform used by many leading enterprises.

This can ultimately help blockchain developers save time and resources by leveraging Huawei’s services to set up a Cardano node for their dApps (decentralized applications), among other benefits.

Scroll further below for information on an upcoming X Space session to further discuss the latest details on this partnership.

Cardano dApp project enters Huawei’s Startup program

On the heels of learning about the EMURGO-Huawei partnership, a Cardano-based dApp project Dedium, has received support and resources from Huawei to build its solution.

Dedium is a decentralized or distributed network of graphical processing units (GPUs) on Cardano that provides users with on-demand access to GPU computing power. Its nodes and clients transact using a Cardano-native token. Their innovative platform provides efficient and scalable GPU resources for AI and other computationally intensive applications by incentivizing individuals to share their idle GPU resources. This lowers costs for developers, commercial users, and creators, fostering an environment that encourages innovation.

With the partnership announced, Dedium got in contact with and applied for entrance into Huawei’s Startup program. Upon a due diligence review from the team, they were fortunate to be accepted. As part of the program, Dedium can access a variety of resources from Huawei and be appointed a mentor to strategically connect them with other departments and projects within their network.

The Huawei brand name has helped Dedium as they were able to sign a notable AI company to utilize Dedium’s robust network of GPUs, thereby expanding its core business.

Benefits of Huawei Cloud’s startup programs

Access more information on the Huawei startup program.

Alongside Huawei’s broader startup program including Dedium, it also runs another related startup program called Spark which seeks growth-stage startups in APAC, across emerging industries such as blockchain/Web3, AI, data & analytics, and more. If accepted into the Spark program, selected projects may also apply to their broader startup program.

Benefits for these selected startups include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial support: cloud credits, special product grants, discounts
  • Technical support: cloud migration support, access to the Huawei developer community
  • Training: access to Huawei University and training courses and complimentary cloud accreditation
  • Go-to-market support: increased visibility via Huawei’s Go-China program, Huawei conferences, networking events, and media opportunities
  • Mentoring: access to its network of venture capital firms and industry partners, participation in weekly events, an appointed strategic advisor with extensive experience, and connections to a select group of other technology startups.

The support from the startup programs and EMURGO’s partnership can potentially help to facilitate rapid business scaling and enhance market trust for selected Cardano startups building impactful solutions.

Interested projects can contact Huawei about applying to their startup programs.
