Decentralised Media (DeMe) Will Disrupt a 2 Trillion Dollar Media and Entertainment Industry
Content creators are not given their fair share in terms of both payment and ownership/copyright. Here's a project that can help them out.
One of the most common problems in the present media landscape is that more often than not, content creators are not given their fair share in terms of both financial compensation as well as control over their creations. In an industry where creativity has been greatly stifled as a result of major corporations assuming control over everything related to media production, there is a clear need for a solution to this glaring global issue.
The role of decentralized media (DeME)
Decentralized media is a relatively new concept in which media firms are open source entities controlled by stakeholders like artists, consumers, as well as their intermediaries. DeMe’s goal is to build open-source platforms that allow individuals ownership over their data, in addition to the media projects that are sponsored and consumed.
This kind of concept is perfectly applicable to the aforementioned media landscape in which we currently find ourselves, as if things continue to be as they are, then it won’t be long before we see a rapid decrease in the number of capable and talented content creators simply because these people are not receiving the proper rewards and treatment for their work.
The solution
Projects like Cardano’s Flickto would appear to provide an answer to the problems produced by today’s media environment which regularly includes things like failure to create attractive and relatable media for the public, squandered funds and allowing big money to dictate what we should and should not consume. Flickto wants to create a DeMe industry where content creators are treated with respect and receive what they are owed.
In order to solve the previously mentioned issue, Flickto has therefore launched its ISPO Remastered project to help motivate more investors to participate in staking and to assist in resolving the issue of unfairness, prejudice, and financial inequality in today’s media sector. ISPO Remastered members will get 0.33 FLICK for each ADA token that is held during every epoch. Furthermore, the project shall provide long-term and new delegator perks such as extra FLICK tokens, non-fungible tokens, and access to exclusive content. Simply put, ISPO Remastered looks to initiate real change for real people and Flickto had even partnered up with MuesliSwap not too long ago to assist with this goal.
The future of the media industry and its content providers
Ultimately, content creators have been trying to gain fair compensation for their work in a seemingly biassed industry for several decades, but it was only recently that things looked to change for the better. This is because of the role that cryptocurrencies and NFTs play nowadays, with these digital assets helping numerous investors, traders and even content creators gain financial stability. It is currently unclear as to whether initiatives like Flickto will solve this global issue of inequality soon, but steps in the right direction are being taken nonetheless in order to create a more equal, fair and honest media sector.
