Cardano, a smart contracts platform and one of the many alternatives to Ethereum, continues to make strides. Days after activating the highly anticipated Chang hard fork, officially marking the start of Voltaire, its developers are back to work.
Cardano Releases GraphQL 8.2.2
In a post on X, Cardano developers announced the launch of GraphQL 8.2.2 aimed at enhancing developer experience and encouraging the building of decentralized apps (dapps).
According to Cardano, GraphQL 8.2.2 is another step towards improving the network’s overall capabilities and efficiency. Specifically, developers are taking a new step in refining their query language.
The fresh update will provide a simple way for developers to query and update data on the network. With GraphQL, developers are making Cardano’s query language more powerful and are keen to create an environment that boosts the launch of dapps.
This update comes at an important time for Cardano. After years of development and improvement, the platform is now at Voltaire. It is a critical stage, allowing developers to launch dapps and grow its ecosystem. The new update on GraphQL sets the base for Cardano developers and projects to refine their protocols and, if need be, better interact with the mainnet.
Charles Hoskinson Focus On Decentralized Governance, When Will ADA Rally?
Amid this, Charles Hoskinson, the founder, has outlined the next steps the network would take as they further decentralize. With Chang complete, the network is now decentralizing its governance, allowing ADA holders to have a say in how the network evolves.
In a video update, Hoskinson emphasized the importance of community participation. To make this effective, the immediate goal, the developer said, will be geared towards the drafting of a formal constitution.
The network is in a “bootstrap phase” that would take three months. During this time, the goal will be to activate the critical components of the new governance system.
Additionally, Hoskinson said the delegated representatives (DReps) will be registered during this time while the interim Constitutional Committee will be operationalized. Part of Cardano’s treasury funds will be allocated but transparently to facilitate this process.
Even as Cardano builds and the network grows, ADA prices remain tight. ADA is within a falling channel from the daily chart, shedding nearly 60% from March highs. Despite the recent expansion, holders expect more now that Cardano has completed its initial five phases of development from Byron.
