In a recent article, Rick McCracken, a notable figure in the Cardano community, highlighted three key priorities for ADA stakeholders in March 2024. Charles Hoskinson, Cardano’s creator, co-signed the article.
Cardano Upgrades, Hard Fork, and Mithril
McCracken’s analysis illuminates crucial areas requiring attention from Cardano enthusiasts and stakeholders. Chief among these priorities is upgrading pools to the latest 8.7.3 full P2P version.
68% of reporting Stake Pool Operators currently use this version, which isn’t enough. The patch fixes a bug in the outgoing governor and strengthens the network against possible security holes.
McCracken also stresses the importance of using Mithril, an essential system for strengthening Cardano’s defenses against possible attacks. Currently, only 15% of staked ADA benefits from this feature. A goal uptake of 60% is seen as necessary for robust network security.
