The InputOutpuHK Twitter official page announced that a proposal had been made to increase the Cardano mainnet block size by 8k.
The proposed changes will be effective from 25th April at 20:20 exact. The current block size, which is 80KB, will be upgraded to 88KB.
The block size will increase by 10%
The 10% increase in block size notes a significant enhancement in the network. It will also help to increase the DApp performance. The up-gradation is one of the latest addition to the fleet of developments, which will optimize Cardano to scale gradually.
The team will also monitor the network’s performance for five days post the update to track the performance and the behavior. The constant monitoring will also help to determine the next increment.
