The founder of the Cardano (ADA) network, Charles Hoskinson, has lashed out at critics on Twitter who claim the network’s latest major update will have adverse effects. According to some, this ‘Vasil hard fork’ ensures that existing smart contracts will no longer work on Cardano. Hoskinson calls it nothing more than fear, uncertainty & doubt (FUD).
Cardano gets a lot of criticism
Existing dApps on Cardano, which use Plutus v1 scripts, will no longer work after the long-awaited Vasil hard fork of the Cardano network. At least, that’s what vociferous critics on Twitter are shouting. Without any proof, Cardano CEO Charles Hoskinson argues.
According to him, it is total nonsense that existing smart contracts and dApps will no longer work and will need to be rewritten. In fact, the entire update is designed in a way that this scenario won’t happen, Hoskinson said. On Twitter, Hoskinson hits a user who, in his eyes, spreads FUD hard.
The entire reason we built the HFC and Plutus versioning is to ensure this doesn’t happen. It’s incredible to see the FUD and stupidity from Twitter trolls, but that’s life. After the HFC event, all contracts will still function. https://t.co/S0k3BHVu19

“The whole reason we built the HFC and Plutus version control is to make sure that doesn’t happen. It’s unbelievable to see the FUD and stupidity of Twitter trolls, but such is life. After the HFC event, all contracts will still function.”
Cardano Vasil hard fork
All eyes are currently on the actual rollout of the Vasil hard fork on the Cardano mainnet. A few days ago a successful dress rehearsal for the update took place on the testnet† The next step would be the launch on the mainnet must be.
It is expected that it will finally be ready at the end of this month. First, Vasil has to be closely monitored on the testnet for a while. If everything continues to work properly, we can expect the long-awaited Cardano update soon.
