Ada (ticker ADA) is a native cryptocurrency that runs on Cardano, a third- generation, decentralized public blockchain that aims to protect user privacy, while remaining flexible for regulation. Cardano is spearheaded by Charles Hoskinson who began in crypto with his course 'Bitcoin or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Crypto'. He subsequently went on to be a co-founder of BitShares and Ethereum before co-founding Cardano in 2015.
Cardano is named after Gerolamo Cardano, an influential mathematician in the Renaissance. The platform aims to solve three issues with traditional cryptocurrencies: Sustainability, Scalability & Interoperability.
