Charles Hoskinson and Jeremy Wood’s technology company IOHK, a company backing Cardano blockchain technology, has just released a new update on its Github page for the enhancement of the blockchain network.
Christened Cardano DB Sync 4.0.0, Tatyanavych, a Cardano developer, released the upgrade yesterday on the official IOHK Github page.
The DB Sync 4.0.0 is designed to help improve the Cardano blockchain network and fix some bugs issues in the code. The upgrade also fixes a number of things like stake deregistration, end times data, stake ordering, epoch start, and fixes delegation and pool_retire references.
According to the information on Github, raw hexadecimal transaction address, transaction metadata, raw stake address and certificate index within a transaction are the database schema additions introduced by the DB Sync 4.0.0 upgrade.
The release includes ‘breaking changes’ like the addition of raw address in stake_address table and renaming of stake_address.hash to stake_address.hash_raw. This allows for storing raw addresses together with the rendered version of the addresses.
Cardano DB Sync 4.0.0 is designed to be compatible with Carano Node 1.18.0, and it comes with other new features like an added and populated tx_metadata table and addition of index within transactions.
The upgrade also helps fix some certain issues on the Cardano blockchain network.
Rather than using the registration table, stake deregistrations are now moved into a correct table, and certificate ordering issues have been fixed.
Also for every rollback, the Cardano blockchain will have a corrected stake_address registration handling, and the epoch start and end times in the table has also been fixed.
In place of pool_update, Cardano DB Sync 4.0.0 made delegation and pool_retire tables reference pool_hash table.
Other Cardano-Relates Releases
In another development, NewsLogical learned that the Cardano chain-wallet-libs v0.5.0-pre2 has also been released on Github. The v0.5.0-pre1 was released on the IOHK Github page hours earlier, and both served as an upgrade for v0.4.0 which was launched on July 8.
On the same day, July 19, the helper web-app that let users interact with the Cardano-wallet, iKar, saw the addition of a new update with the release of an upgraded version v2020-08-03.
The ikar v2020-08-03 version is said to be compatible with the ITN Reward Redemptions on Cardano mainnet.
Cardano and its community developers continue to introduce great additions to better the potency of the blockchain network. The release of the Shelley mainnet was no doubt a huge one for Cardano. It increased the popularity of the blockchain network around the world, as well as the value of ADA token in the market.
