The Cardano ecosystem continues to grow despite the huge uncertainty in the market. For crypto in general, 2022 is a year to forget. In May, of course, we had the implosion of Terra and the chain reaction of liquidations that followed. Last month, FTX was added to that.
Cardano a bright spot?
At Cardano, however, they don’t care about that. Since the collapse of FTX, the number of Cardano wallets has increased by 30,000 in a week. In addition, the number of Cardano-based smart contracts has passed 4,000 for the first time and has grown more than 300 percent compared to the beginning of this year.
In addition, the platform adds an average of 22,327 staking addresses per month. That average has been achieved for 13 months. ADA currently has a total of 1,232,459 addresses that are staking crypto. In November 2021, that number was still at 942,117 addresses. In that period, the number of strikers has therefore increased by 290,342.
Notably, there is a total of 25.12 billion Cardano in the staking wallets, which makes up 73.59 percent of the project’s entire supply. In total there are 34.47 billion Cardano in circulation. The price of the project is currently at 0.2968 euros on Bitvavo.
Many developers active in Cardano ecosystem
Cardano also remains a market leader when it comes to developing the blockchain platform. In November, Cardano was even the blockchain that was tinkered with the most, according to an analysis by on-chain analysis platform Santiment.

“Cardano is head and shoulders above all other crypto assets when it comes to development,” said Santiment analysts. For the month of November, the rate of development was 18 percent higher at Cardano than the number two on the list. Also in December, Cardano is currently at the top of the list on this metric.
Number two on the list is Polkadot, which is followed by Kusama, Cosmos, and Ethereum. It is striking that Bitcoin is not on the list, but that is mainly because developments in the Lightning Network, for example, do not count for this.
