Cardano (ADA) Being Productive in the Face of Chaos – Call Email Write a Letter

Charles Hoskinson alerted those in the US to Call Email and Write a Letter implying the Cryptocurrency Provisions in the Infrastructure Bill.

“They voted yes on something they should not have voted on.” Charles also stated, “There are some things that can be done before the amendment and some things that can’t be done after the amendment.”

On the technology side, there are a lot of things we are exploring and verifying about the ability to introduce regulation and compliance in decentralized systems using gits. There is a potential to have a compromise solution there. But as a wholesale situation, when there is no De Minimis provision, and you can be a stake pool operator offshore, and a single US participant delegating to you could inadvertently make you a criminal. This is an extraordinary thing. This shows the inhume inflexibility of this kind of legislation.

We are not out of the fight yet. There is things to do and bills to pass or revoke.  And, we will see what happens with the voter on Saturday. But, we should remember it on Saturday, and that will be recorded in the vote.

Every person, one way or the other, we are going to remember.

And, those who vote NO: That is at least something.

Those who vote yes:  We have to create political consequences for that so that they know they can’t come and victimize our industry.  So, between now and Saturday, the best we can accomplish is to write to the congress, write to senators, and let it be known that we are not happy about this, and educate others.

And, in the longer term, we need to support political candidates who are blatantly against this.

I maintain my position that the only way we are going to get out of this longer-term is by constitutional convention.

Now, if the disaster situation occurs, and this bill is passed as written, we will try to work with Coin Center and others to get some moderate amount of clarity of what the hell this actually means for stake pool operators and those who create the DeFi and deploy that DeFi.

Community response:  Calling lots, emailing, and letters have worked for us in Australia in the past; it’s all about numbers.

The injury which may be done by defeating a few good laws, will be amply compensated by the advantage of preventing a number of bad ones.” Let’s get this done.
