We’re happy to announce that we will commence our first public TESTNET launch on November 10th, at 3:30PM UTC. This test is completely open to the public and will give everyone a chance to get familiar with the purchase flow prior to a MAINNET launch (to be announced).

A full write-up of our postmortem following the first failed launch of our Beta Sale (which happened on November 6th) is also in the pipeline to be published sometime today or tomorrow, which will give the community insight into what happened and how we are fixing it.

TESTNET Participation Guide

To participate in the TESTNET launch of ADA Handle, it’s important to understand a few things:

1. This is NOT a real launch.
2. Any Handle purchased will NOT be usable.
3. Any tADA spent will be refunded at a later date, but it is NOT guaranteed.
4. There is NO incentive to participate, other than helping us get to Mainnet launch faster and more efficiently.

Getting Started

1. To get started, we recommend using Nami Wallet as the interface for switching to Testnet is simple and intuitive. However, it’s perfectly fine to participate with Daedalus Testnet as well.
2. Once you have a wallet installed and it is set to TESTNET, you’ll want to head over to the Cardano Faucet to get some free tADA.
3. Once you have this, you’ll participate in the launch by visiting https://testnet.adahandle.com/mint/ If you see a password, this is normal — we will remove the password protection around 30 minutes before launch.
4. BONUS STEP: any invalid payments that you make will be refunded at a later date (tbd), but it may help to record the amount you sent so that we can verify inaccurate refunds later. If you end up not receiving a valid refund in your TESTNET wallet within 14 days, please contact us and let us know.
